In several cultures, even the proposal for marriage is a traditional process. In the United States, the traditional way of proposing for a marriage is by presenting the ring to the girl and asking the girl to marry you. Most men do it, and they do it in the most creative easy.
However, one century ago, marriage was a deal between families and the boy and the girl would be engaged publicly, with the boy putting a ring on the girl's finger in front of friends and family to show that they would be getting married soon. Also, the traditional marriage proposal first requires the boy to ask the head of the family whether he can marry their daughter. On that day, you give a short speech about your decision to get married and then put the ring on the girl’s finger. While there are no elements of surprise in this process, it does have its own charm.
