If it is the Bride’s family:
Mr. and Mrs. X from Y place announce the engagement of their daughter, (name) to (Name), son of A and B of such a place, city. A brief introduction of the Bride and Groom has to be given, and if you want, you can announce a tentative date for the wedding.
Single Parent:
Ms. Alice Doe announces the engagement of her daughter, Jane Doe to John Smith, the son of A.J. and Daphne Smith of Houston….(The remaining of the wording stays the same as above.)
Deceased Parent:
Ms. Alice Doe announces the engagement of her daughter, Jane Doe to John Smith. Ms. Doe, also the daughter of the late Jon Doe, graduated from the University of Columbia and is the manager of the Golden Clover Restaurant. Mr. Smith, the son of A.J. and Daphne Smith, graduated from Harvard University and is a lawyer at Bakerfield and Sons in New York City.
Remarried Parent

Divorced Parents
Mr. William Doe, of Houston, and Ms. Alice George, of Portland, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jane Doe to . . .
Announced by the Bride and Groom
Jane Doe, a graduate of University of Columbia, is to be married to John Smith, a graduate of Harvard University. Ms. Doe, the daughter of the late William and Alice Doe, is a manager of the Golden Clover restaurant. Mr. Smith is a lawyer for Bakerfield and Sons, New York.
